Getting started with EasyScreen Screen Printing: Step-by-step explanation.

Beginnen met EasyScreen Zeefdruk: Stap voor stap uitleg.

EasyScreen is an innovative system that makes screen printing accessible to everyone. The process is simple and perfect to do with children. To get started you will need:

- A screen made by us
- A frame
- A squeegee
- Screen printing ink
- double sided tape
- Painter's masking tape or Paper tape>

Additionally, a spacious work surface is useful, along with an old cloth, something to rest your squeegee on, and an iron or heat press.

Steps for screen printing with EasyScreen:

Step 1:

Make sure all the supplies are ready. Stick double-sided tape on the frame and remove the protective layer from the tape. Place the screen with the smooth, shiny side on the tape. Make sure you tighten the screen firmly and cut away any excess material. Cover the windows with masking tape. If your screen has multiple designs, cover the design you do not want to use so that paint does not accidentally seep through.

Step 2:

Apply sufficient ink to the screen. Use the squeegee to spread the ink evenly over the screen. Make sure the screen is well covered with ink. Repeat if necessary and then lift the frame straight up.

Step 3:

Print the desired number of screen prints. Be careful not to put the frame on fresh ink to avoid smudging. Because the image is burned into the screen, only ink comes through the pattern.

Step 4:

When you are done printing, clean the screen. Rinse the glossy side and wipe it gently. If you are working with multiple colours, make sure the screen and frame are completely clean and dry before continuing. You can do this quickly and easily with an old tea towel. If necessary, tape off the images that you no longer want to print with and continue with the other colour. When you are done screen printing, it is important to clean your screen well so that the ink does not dry in the screen. This way you can use the screen many times.

Step 5:

To make the print durable, the ink must be fixed with heat. This can be done in two ways:
- With a heat press: Set the press to 150 degrees and press the print for 45 seconds. Use a teflon cloth or baking paper between the press and the ink.
- With an iron: Place baking paper between the iron and the workpiece and press with the iron on a medium setting for 2 to 3 minutes.

After this heat fixation your screen print is ready and resistant to washing and scrubbing .
