Want to give your clothes a unique look? Then clothing transfers are a great option! With the right technique, you can effortlessly achieve professional results at home.
For best results, use a hard surface when ironing, such as a wooden board covered with a towel. This ensures an even distribution of pressure over the transfer. Avoid ironing on a high spot and do not use an ironing board, an ironing board springs back and therefore does not provide enough counter pressure. If possible, choose a flat low surface, such as the floor. This allows you to apply sufficient pressure for perfect adhesion of the transfer. It is important that your iron is nice and warm, better a little too warm than too cold, a transfer can take a lot.
Here's a guide to get you started:
Step 1: Preparation
Use a wooden plank, place it on the floor and cover it with a towel.

Step 2: Positioning the Transfer
Iron your garment so that the surface is nice and smooth. Place the clothing transfer on the desired location on your garment. Make sure it is aligned and exactly where you want it.

Step 3: The Ironing Process
Place a sheet of baking paper over the transfer to protect it from direct contact with the iron. Press the iron firmly onto the transfer and hold for 15 to 20 seconds. Use as much of your weight as possible, more pressure will give a better result. Make sure you do not move during. If you have a large application, work gradually over the entire surface to ensure that all areas are heated and pressed evenly.

Step 4: Removing the Foil

Step 5: Final Touch
Place another sheet of baking paper over the transfer and press again for at least 12 seconds on each spot of the transfer to ensure the transfer adheres well. Remove the baking paper and admire the result! Let the application cool completely for the best adhesion.
