Important when sewing 100% cotton French terry:

This fabric is knitted, but does not contain elastane. This means that it has little stretch and does not bounce back as you are used to from fabrics with stretch. If you process this fabric with only a straight stitch on the sewing machine, the seams may come loose or even tear when worn. Use a jersey needle or ballpoint needle (size 70/80). This does not damage the fabric, which is important for knitted fabrics.

This is how you prevent:

• Use a serger for stretch seams.
• No serger? Then choose a light zigzag stitch or a stretch stitch on your sewing machine.
• Avoid straight stitches for seams that need to move (such as armholes or sides).
• Reinforce shoulder seams or other areas with tension, if necessary, with seam tape or a thin strip of interfacing.
• When choosing the pattern, please take into account the limited stretch: choose looser fits or use cuffs with elastane.

Please note: this is especially true for fitted garments . For loose-fitting clothing, this fabric is wonderfully comfortable and easy to work with!

Stoffen kunnen bij de eerste wasbeurt krimpen, daarom is het belangrijk om ze vooraf te wassen. Om de kleuren te fixeren, adviseren we om een scheut natuurazijn aan het waswater toe te voegen. Was de kleding daarna op 30 graden met vergelijkbare kleuren. Vermijd het gebruik van de droger en strijk de stof op een matige temperatuur.
